The raw tailings slurry features a low solid content of only 10%~20%, which is not suitable for direct filter dewatering. The tailings slurry is first delivered to a high-efficiency thickener for preliminary solid-liquid separation via gravity sedimentation. The solid content of the underflow tailings slurry is increased to 55%~70%, meeting the feeding standard for subsequent tailings filter press operation. The clear overflow water separated by the thickener can be directly returned to the beneficiation production line for recycling, realizing preliminary water resource recovery.
The concentrated high-density tailings slurry is pumped into the filter chamber of the tailings filter press. Solid-liquid separation is achieved through physical high-pressure extrusion: liquid penetrates the filter cloth and is discharged, while solid particles are intercepted by the filter cloth to form dense filter cakes in the filter chamber.
